Encino · residential remodel
Feeling. Private spa calm. Warm wood, marble, and brass that slow you down the moment you walk in. Not a flashy showroom bath. A quiet primary suite that feels like a personal retreat.
Stakes. For Guy, this was proof that Guy Genis Designs can do true luxury residential craft, not a catalog remodel. The vanity had to be custom-fabricated. The materials had to hold up next to real high-end homes. Getting the spa feeling right mattered, because that emotion is the whole point of his residential work.
Story. The Encino primary bath became a materials-and-fabrication job: Calacatta Gold marble on the vanity, Ann Sacks tile in the shower, Kohler fixtures, sinks, and mirrors. Guy custom-fabricated the vanity as the anchor of the room, then kept the palette warm and spare so the stone and brass could breathe. The bath was phase one of a larger primary suite, with the walk-in closet and master bedroom next.
Results. A finished spa-calm primary bath in Encino, built around custom fabrication and named luxury materials. The suite now reads as one feeling, not a pile of fixtures.
Boldyn Networks · Irvine and Oakland
Feeling. Brand-forward workplace energy. Industrial craft meeting Boldyn identity, so the lobby feels like the company itself, not a generic office kit.
Stakes. Boldyn builds wireless communications for major stadiums and public spaces. Guy needed their California offices to feel that same scale of ambition. This was a chance to prove his design house could carry a global brand into daily workplaces, and to win enough trust that one lobby would grow into more cities.
Story. Guy closed the Irvine lobby first, then carried the language into Oakland. He designed reception desks, custom light boxes with Boldyn AI-generated art, and blue-and-gray velvet furniture. In Irvine, glass panels flanking the reception desk run high-def video, and a brushed-metal wall is lit from above and below with LEDs. The rooms mix industrial material with soft seating so the brand feels both technical and human.
Results. Completed workplaces in Irvine and Oakland. Boldyn came back for more after the first office landed, which is the result Guy cares about: one strong room becoming a multi-city relationship.
Stevenson Ranch · residential exterior
Feeling. Open-air celebration. A second-story deck that feels like a destination over the canyon, made for hosting, lingering, and watching the valley light change.
Stakes. Guy treats outdoor living like interior design with weather. The stake was turning a house into a place people gather, not just a house with a view. If the deck felt bolted-on, the whole remodel would fail. It had to feel inevitable, connected to the primary bedroom, and worth opening every night.
Story. In Stevenson Ranch, Guy designed a 400 square foot second-story entertainment deck tied directly to the master bedroom. A custom bar anchors the space, with a 180° canyon view across the Santa Clarita Valley. The outdoor work widened into the pool area, including thousands of square feet of Walker Zanger tile, plus the construction pieces that make a yard feel finished: plaster, pool and spa equipment, and retaining structure that keeps the grade honest.
Results. A true entertainment deck above the canyon, and a pool terrace that matches that same outdoor-living ambition. Before-and-after photos show the house gaining a whole new place to live.
